Cohen R. and I recently drove to North Carolina for our first visit to the annual #TeamRiverRunner SE Rendezvous. We were treated to good food, new friendships and two days kayaking the Nantahala River followed by a day on big water of the Ocoee. It was a tremendous event with more than 50 veterans and volunteers attending. Kudos to Becky Richardson, Deborah Reyes and all the volunteers for their outstanding contributions to make this event happen. Thanks to our knowledgeable river guides Shawn O’Banion and Laura Dillon. And special thanks to our hosts Kerry Holland and Bill Finger for their hospitality and friendship. Here’s video from our Ocoee run. My GoPro battery died before we reached Hell Hole and Power Plant. But we made it through right-side-up.

All smiles after our successful Ocoee Run. From left: me, U.S. Army LTC Kim Mevers, veteran Marine Cohen Rautenkranz
