Three of us set out to take on 10.5 miles of the Wolf River’s long Section 3 at a level that demanded respect. With flows topping out at 2,000 CFS, familiar lines turned bigger, faster, and far more consequential. What followed was a mix of controlled chaos and clean runs, all under blue skies and unseasonably warm 70° air. At the end of the video is my drone footage capturing Matt and Terry charging through Gilmore’s Mistake, the final rapid of the day. Big water, fast moves kept things interesting. It was full-value run with great people, amazing conditions, and a river that reminded us who’s really in charge.
